Conocimiento del profesorado de enseñanza básica y media sobre el Trastorno por Déficit Atencional

Abstract

El propósito de esta investigación fue evaluar el conocimiento del profesorado de enseñanza básica y media sobre el trastorno por déficit atencional. En el estudio participaron 62 profesores de Chile, los cuales se desempeñan en establecimientos municipales, particular subvencionado gratuito y particular subvencionado pagado, con la intención de establecer si el conocimiento de los profesores es bajo en relación al TDA y qué variables contribuyen al nivel de conocimiento de los docentes. Se aplicó al profesorado la Escala KADDS, conformada por tres partes que consisten en la información general sobre TDAH, síntomas y diagnóstico, y tratamiento.

The purpose of this investigation was to evaluate the knowledge of teachers in primary and secondary education regarding Attention Deficit Disorders. The study counted with the participation of 62 professors of Chile who currently work in public schools, free subsidized private schools and paid subsidized private schools. The KADDS scale was applied to teachers with the purpose of determining if their knowledge regarding ADD is low and which variables contribute to knowledge levels among the teaching staff. The KADDS scale contained three content areas: general information on ADHD, symptoms and diagnostic, and treatment.
