dc.description.abstract The development of an institutional learning culture, where the use of data is an integral part of decision-making and educational practice, is a necessity nowadays. Through an exploratory quantitative approach, the use of learning analytics and big data for educational improvement is studied. Thirty managers from Chilean state and private universities were surveyed. The results show that most managers are familiar with the collection and use of data for educational improvement. It is common to analyze the learning achieved by students and, less frequently, to predict the future performance of the graduate. The collection of information on the income profile and academic performance is highlighted to implement corrective measures. There are opportunities for improvement in data collection from the world of work. In addition, trained teams and more resources are required to take advantage of the information collected. en
